UPDATES FOR OCTOBER TO DECEMBER 2016

 

AGGEM JOINS THE POLLINATION GRANTEE LIST

 

We shall  receiving our first seed grant of USD 1000, for a pilot project to engage with farmers in Bafut and Mankon on the use of Local Indigenous Knowledge and Practices for the production of staple foods. This is a significant achievement for us joining the grantee list as it is one of most important way to increase the visibility of the work we are doing and engaging in very impactful work with our target communities beginning in January 2016.

FUNDRAISING

 

We have also sent out a couple of projects including the DAP of the Australia High Commission at Abuja (to promote transboundary conservation and production of organic food using local indigenous knowledge and practices between North West and South West Nigeria), the International Tree Foundation (ITF), Crowder Grant and the IVOH’s Restorative Narrative which seeks to promote a new media landscape in which we seek to listen to the voices of real players on the scene and making those voices heard beyond where they are generated. We are having positive signals from this direction.

 

PLASTIC WASTE RECYCLING PROJECT

 

We have also not ended discussions with or counterparts on the recycling of plastic papers to pavement tiles. Once we get the necessary resources we shall engage in this process in 2017 as well as in the implementation of our business plan for waste management, which we will be taking forward soon.

 

ANNUAL GIVING BACK TO OUR COMMUNITY (GIBAC) INITIATIVE STAFF, RETREAT AND REPORTING

 

This year we are excited again about the regular end of year Giving Back to our community (GIBAC) Initiative. This year we shall be engaging with farmers through our liaison group - Optimists Friends at Bafut North West Region Cameroon, to share knowledge on climate smart agriculture. This event shall take place on the 22 of December 2016. This shall be followed by our annual staff r staff retreat which will give us an opportunity to consolidate the reports of the work we have been doing in 2016.

Acceptance into the UN Global Compact Network
